COMMUNITY-FOCUSED, DRIVEN, and HUMBLE! Those are a few core values that Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre (GAFT) embraces as we share our talent throughout. Every community has its staple piece that brings it together, and GAFT is that staple for Gladwin County!
For over 40 years GAFT has entertained Gladwin County and we are determined that this will continue. Every community has its struggles, but Gladwin County has had more than its share. With COVID-19 starting off the year with a bang, then the 500-year flood caused more devastation. The flood impacted everyone in the community and has prevented GAFT from presenting shows and having a place for many to showcase their talents. This historic flood caused catastrophic damage to the area and completely destroyed the GAFT theatre.
As we move forward remembing, rebuilding, and renewing, we would love for you to join in and play a starring role in our next act. Currently, the theatre is “DARK” and our crew and actors are unable to perform and captivate our audiences. The performing arts are an important part of our county’s culture and enhances the experience of the community. Gladwin Area Friends of the Theatre had future plans to improve and expand the theater before the flood, however, now that the building has been destroyed GAFT must act now!
Although the weather has taken a toll on Gladwin County, we are certain that with your help GAFT will inspire the community once more. Our new facility will not only be our home, but a base for other fellow performers to express themselves. With your financial support, we will continue this forthy-one-year legacy of bringing the community together and dazzling our audiences.
